Transformer disposal & large motors

Transformers are heavy, valuable and demanding to dispose of. They contain large amounts of copper or aluminium and electrical steel – and, in oil-filled units, insulating oil that must be handled properly. Schrottwolf dismantles, transports and recycles transformers, reactors and large motors in Austria and internationally.

Insulating oil

Insulating oil is hazardous waste. For older units it must also be checked whether the oil contains PCBs, for which special regulations apply. The oil is drained before recycling and treated by authorised disposal companies; we document the disposal routes.

Process

1. Enquiry with nameplate data, weight and location
2. Site survey for large units or difficult access
3. Offer – the metal value can significantly reduce costs
4. Dismantling and transport with suitable lifting and transport equipment
5. Recycling and documentation
